How electricity comes to your home?

Current electricity is generated at a power station. It comes to your home through wires. The wires are attached to a meter that measures and records how much electricity your home uses.

After the electricity flows through the meter, the wires take it to a control panel with fuses or circuit breakers. If the amount of electricity flowing through the wires gets dangerously high, the fuse or circuit breaker stops the flow of electricity.

Next, the electricity flows through wires hidden inside the walls of your home. These wires are connected to every electrical outlet and light switch in your home. If a machine, such as a TV, is plugged into a wall outlet, a complete circuit is created and electricity flows to the TV.
