My trip to Bulgaria
Last
summer I went to Bulgaria with my family and volleyball team. We started from
Põltsamaa in 19th august and came back in 31st. We went with two cars: our car
and a bus from Põlva. The place we went is called Primorsko. It’s on the bank
of Black sea.
My
father and mother had to lead the trip so they had to know everything about the
visas and about the hotels and of course the road. My mother looked for
information about the place and father learned the road. It was quite hard but
we made it. We didn’t have to back almost anything because there was warm and
clear in Bulgaria.
When
we were driving, there were interesting happenings. Our itinerary was: Latvia,
Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. In Latvia we wanted
to take a shortcut but that didn’t turn out well. Bus was bought two weeks
before the trip so the owner (also bus driver) didn’t want to rune the bus. But
when we were past the Riga, there were a shortcut and we thought that we should
use it. So we took a shortcut. The road was just „great”: First of all it was gravel, there were also
so much holes. But that wasn’t all: we had to drive about 15 kilometers on cobbled
road. We thought it was neat but when we saw the face of the bus owner then it
was really fearful.
Then
we made it to Romania. That wasn’t very good. When we were over the border a
police stopped us and we had to pay 100 euros. But it wasn’t all. Our bus
driver was so skilful that he backed into BMW. So we had to spend our time in
police station.
In Hungary we went
to swimming gages. It was great. In Romania we were in dolphinarium in Varna. There you can realize how smart the
dolphins really are. And finally we made it to Bulgaria. At the border the
troubles started. First they let us pay more than we should need to pay. Then
my coach played a bad trick: she told our mother that she won’t pay us any more
money and we have to find it by ourselves (sport school had to pay the gas
bills and our coach had the money).
So my mother had to find money for
4000 kilometres.
The
day after we reached to Primorsko the competition started. We lost first game
but won all the others. We won 5th place. But the main action wasn’t the
competition it was swimming and shopping. The Black sea was 100 meters from our
hostel. The water was 27 degrees and air was about 35-45. In morning we went to
swimming. By the way we saw there jellyfish and only thanks to me. When we
played volleyball in water I stepped on two jellyfishes. They died and I bought
a swimming mask to avoid the other ones. It was quite kreepy. But thanks to me
we all saw themJ. One interesting thing was when we
looked for food market. We looked everywhere and finally a local helped us. He
told us where a very big market is. When we saw that market we were really surprised:
their biggest market was as small as our English class.
At
night all people gathered to the main street and the life started. There were
trampolines, snakes and monkeys, everybody had a party. That continued till
morning then they slept a few hours and went to beach. That was the way they
were living. In mornings me and my father went to running in 7o´clock and when
we saw people we could notice that they looked us like miracles. One morning a
man was sitting by his house and we ran past him. When we had run about 5
kilometers we past him again. Next morning when we ran past him he told us how
fast we had ran and he told us that if we ran faster than that he will give my
father 1 liter vodka. We ran faster but for his luck my father and mother don’t
drink.
In
last day we bought several souvenirs: my brother who was at home got Ronaldini
football shirt, I got a blouse and dolphine, my sister had skirt and mother and
father had a suntan!
We
went back through Serbia and Montenegro what was a really nice country. But
near Romanian boarder there were gypsys. They panhandeled money. We saw how
about 6 years old boy took a class cleaning broom, but it to his pants and ran
away. When he was far enough he took it out and went to panhandeling. It was
sad to see these kids.
So
that was my trip to Bulgaria. It was more than 6000km long but really cool.
