Polar Bear
Polar bears are the biggest carnivores (meat-eaters) on land. Polar bears are very large animals. They are white, but they have black nose and eyes. The largest polar bear ever recorded was a male weighing 1,002 kg and measuring 3.7 m long. They have got 42 teeth. Their ears are small and tail too. The tail is about 7 to 12 cm long. Their coat is about 2.5 to 5 cm tick. Polar bears are very good in swimming. A polar bear's nostrils close when under water. They usually eat fish, seal or bird. Polar bears can live 20 to 30 years. When polar bears are mad they hiss like cats. They like play. These intelligent animals will often use ice ridges as water slides, and take turns sliding down for a big splash. They like cold, snow and ice. They live in North Pole. Polar bear is arctic symbol. Now are about 20 000 to 25 000 polar bears alive.
